East Carolina running back Keaton Mitchell has declared for the NFL draft, following in the footsteps of his father, Anthony, who played six seasons in the NFL from 2000 to 2005 and was a member of the Baltimore Ravens’ Super Bowl-winning team in 2000. Keaton Mitchell has had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and ranks third in school history with 3,027 rushing yards. In the 2021 season alone, he rushed for 1,452 yards, the second most in school history, and scored 14 touchdowns. He also had seven consecutive 100-yard outings, including 127 yards in the Pirates’ 53-29 victory over Coastal Carolina in the Birmingham Bowl. In total, he scored 25 touchdowns in three seasons at East Carolina and had three receiving touchdowns.

“I want to thank my teammates who have been with me through the sacrifices and the grind,” Mitchell said in a statement on Instagram. “The blood, sweat, and tears. The wins and losses, and the summer/winter workouts. I thank y’all for bringing the best out of me and allowing me to be who I am today.”
